Teac Recording need advise
I have some 7 1/2" x 1/4" width recorded tapes that was recorded years ago and I don't have the Teac recorder that it was made on.
How can I get the 4 track / 4 Channel Reel - Reel copied to where I can use it on Sonar digiotal recorder?
Or does anybody have a Teac 4 track 4 channel reel to reel for sale?
Let me know thanks,
Bill

Hi Bill,
It's not for sale, but I have a Teac A-3440 deck that will play your tapes. I could dub them to 4 discrete .wav tracks you could import into Sonar. Of course there's the problem of shipping 'irreplaceable' tapes around, that's always a concern. I assume Sonar will import .wavs?
The deck hasn't been turned on in a couple of years, but the heads are low-hours and it worked fine last time I used it, so I'd be glad to help assuming it still works. Let me know.
BTW, you may have some 'print through' issues if the tapes have been stored a long time.

One thing to clear up.
Is it 4 channel 1/4 track?
Record 2 tracks one way, the flip the tape
and then 2 the other way.
Or is it 4 channel multi-track?
4 tracks in the same direction at the same time.
